Terms and conditions for Essay Competition – “YOU are the Future of Europe

Rules concerning participants eligibility:

    • Participants must be undergraduate students (who have at least completed three years of study, or six semesters, at a university or an equivalent institute of higher education) or graduate students up to 26 years old, who are nationals of European Union Member States.
    • Entrants must have a good knowledge (at least B2 level) of one official EU language, of which should be either English, French or German.
    • Must not have been granted a paid traineeship in the EU institutions or not yet have already been in full time gainful employment after the completion of their studies.

Rules concerning submissions:

    • Only original and unpublished analysis and recommendations on the question.
    • Submissions must be written in English.
    • Submissions must include a short introduction, your intention and views, as well as your motivation to solve the problems you have identified.
    • Format must be Times New Roman, 12, 1.5 line spacing. Word count maximum is 2,000 words (approximately 4 pages).
    • Only PDF files will be accepted.
    • Copyright is transferred to the EPP Group upon submission of entry. By submitting your work you agree to transfer the copyright (and related rights) of the submitted work to the EPP Group. This transfer includes the right to footage placement(s) in all subsequent publications and versions (including translations and adaptations) of the article in any (social) media, now known or later developed, as well as placement in all relevant publications of the EPP Group in all media, now known or later developed.

Prizes:

The top 3 winners will be awarded the unique opportunity of completing a 5-month paid traineeship within the EPP Group at the European Parliament.
The top 10 participants will receive an invitation for the EPP Youth week in September in Brussels.

The winners will be announced on Monday 13th June 2022 @ 12:00 CET and informed by email.

Judging:

The eligible entries will be judged by a selection of European Parliament Members and expert Administrators responsible for the chosen subject matter. They will be judged based on the quality, originality and creativity of challenges, ideas and solutions that are identified, as well as the use of English.

Terms and conditions for Video Competition – “Be the change

Rules concerning participants eligibility:

    • Participants must be citizens of a Member State of the European Union.
    • Age limit: 16 to 26.
    • Entries must follow the broad artistic theme of best practices to save the planet, small actions with big impact!
    • Submissions cannot condone violence, incite racism or promote any discriminatory behaviour.
    • Contain no third-party endorsement related to advertising.
    • Entries of the winners will be posted on the EPP website and social media (copyright of entry is transferred to EPP Group). By submitting your work you agree to transfer the copyright (and related rights) of the submitted work to the EPP Group. This transfer includes the right to footage placement(s) in all subsequent publications and versions (including translations and adaptations) of the article in any (social) media, now known or later developed, as well as placement in all relevant publications of the EPP Group in all media, now known or later developed.
    • Entries should not have already won a video competition.
    • Each participant may enter only one video.

Rules concerning submissions:

    • Entry to the competition is free and limited to a maximum of one entry per person.
    • The length of the video must be between 1 and 3 minutes.
    • Videos must be recorded in a 9:16 format (phone video on vertical or portrait mode).
    • The video format accepted is: MP4.

Prizes:
We will award medals and printed certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place:

    • The winner of the first prize will win a trip for 2 to visit the EPP Group in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
    • The winners of 2nd and 3rd place will receive EPP tokens for their participation by post.
    • In addition to this, the top 3 participants will receive an invitation for the Youth event in Brussels, this September.

The winners will be announced on Monday 13th June 2022 @ 12:00 CET and informed by email.

Judging:

The eligible entries will be judged according to:

    • Visual impact of video techniques, design and editing.
    • Impact of the proposed hacks on the environment and the ease of replication/adaptation by other individuals.
    • Overall creativity and originality of the format and hacks.

Terms and conditions for Art Competition – “Draw your fEUture self

Rules concerning participants eligibility:

    • Participants must be citizens of a Member State of the European Union.
    • The age limit is 6 to 16, competing in two age groups: 6-11 and 12-16.
    • Submissions cannot condone violence, incite racism or promote any discriminatory behaviour.
    • Contain no third-party endorsement related to advertising.
    • Entries are the exclusive intellectual property of the EPP Group. By submitting your work you agree to transfer the copyright (and related rights) of the submitted work to the EPP Group. This transfer includes the right to footage placement(s) in all subsequent publications and versions (including translations and adaptations) of the article in any (social) media, now known or later developed, as well as placement in all relevant publications of the EPP Group in all media, now known or later developed.
    • Entries should not have already won any artistic competition.
Rules concerning submissions:

    • Entries must follow the broad artistic theme of “How do you see yourself living in the future?”. You can include your perspective on your future house, jobs, world, environment, family… Get creative!
    • Entry to the competition is free and limited to a maximum of one entry per person.
    • Only JPEG, PNG and PDF files will be accepted, with a 4:3 aspect ratio or size A4 (horizontal), minimum image dimensions for the short side 800px and maximum file size 5MB.
Prizes:
We will award medals and printed certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in both categories.

    • The winner of the 1st prize will win a trip for 2 to visit the EPP Group in the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium.
    • The winners of 2nd and 3rd place will receive EPP tokens for their participation by post.

The winners will be announced on Monday 13th June 2022 @ 12:00 CET and informed by email.

Judging:
The eligible entries will be judged, separately by category, according to their overall impression and impact, artistic technique, design and creativity.
